President Joe Biden regaled the British prime minister Tuesday with a false story about how he was congratulated for traveling a lot on Amtrak.
During a White House meeting with Boris Johnson, Biden reprised a yarn about an Amtrak conductor who congratulated him for riding 2 million miles on the rail service — even though the man died before supposedly honoring the then-vice president.

Various fact checkers have poked holes in Biden’s story, which he has been telling at least since his 2020 presidential campaign, but the assembled media responded Tuesday with laughter and fluffy reports.
Biden has repeatedly been caught fibbing about his past, including when the Washington Post revealed in 2019 that a heartbreaking war story he told for years never actually happened.
