Naughty or Nice Trump? Check Out These Notable MAGA Moments From Christmas Week.

Former President Donald Trump has been uncharacteristically magnanimous in the final days of Advent, though hardly angelic.

Is Trump retooling for a reelection bid in 2024, or is this just Christmas cheer?

Going high: Trump, who has rarely missed an opportunity to bash Joe Biden, did just that in an interview with Fox News Tuesday — and instead graciously thanked the president for thanking him.

“I’m very appreciative of that — I was surprised to hear it,” Trump said of Biden praising his administration Tuesday for the development of COVID-19 vaccines. “I think it was a terrific thing, and I think it makes a lot of people happy.”

  • Even in accepting credit, Trump mostly stuck to first-person plural: “We should be really happy about it because we’ve all saved millions and millions of lives all over the world.”
  • Trump went on to encourage Americans to get vaccinated while constructively criticizing vaccine mandates, like those pushed by the Biden administration, as counterproductive
  • “I think that it’s really a question of tone. It’s a question of trust, and hopefully, the people that have had COVID, hopefully they will be given credit for that,” he said.

Rising above: During a speaking event in Dallas Sunday, Trump urged his supporters not to be defined by their ideological opponents, and then took his own advice.

“What we’ve done is historic,” Trump said of the three COVID-19 vaccines created on his watch. “Don’t let them take away, don’t take it away from ourselves. You’re playing right into their hands when you sort of like, ‘oh, the vaccine.’”

  • When some attendees booed Trump’s revelation that he had received a booster shot, the former president declined to take it personally.
  • “Don’t, don’t, don’t, don’t,” he said, waving off the naysayers as a “very tiny group over there.”

Praising Jesus: Trump, who has been accused of blasphemy before, went out of his way to humble himself before God in a sermon Sunday at First Baptist Church Dallas.

“Our country needs a savior right now, and we have a savior — that’s not me, that’s someone much higher up,” Trump said before delivering a Christmas message about Jesus.

  • “We’re going to make America great again,” he concluded as the crowd stood and chanted “U-S-A.”

But Trump has not started turning the other cheek when it comes to his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.

  • In a statement Tuesday, Trump continued to rant about the “rigged” results and denounced his critics in the GOP and the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack.
  • Trump also announced he would hold a news conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on the one-year anniversary of the riot “to discuss all of these points, and more.”
  • “Until then,” Trump said, “remember, the insurrection took place on November 3rd, it was the completely unarmed protest of the rigged election that took place on January 6th.”
