NOT THE ONION: Model Shaves Off Hair, Eyebrows for Fake Internet Campaign

A model in Utah admitted she hasn’t left the house since being tricked into shaving her head bald.

WHAT HAPPENED

Megan Randolph, a resident of Layton, Utah, said she recently removed her hair and eyebrows after receiving text messages offering her thousands of dollars to do so as part of an online ad campaign for Redken hair products that turned out to be fake.

  • “I am a little devastated, but it is just hair and it will grow back. I wasn’t scammed out of anything, but it’s malicious; it’s 100% cruel,” Randolph told Utah CBS affliate KUTV earlier this month.
  • “Oh yeah, I haven’t left the house, I don’t plan on leaving the house until I can figure something out and I know that sounds silly.”
