
NOT THE ONION: National Archives Puts ‘Trigger Warning’ on Constitution
The U.S. Constitution has officially been slapped with a “harmful language alert.”
WHAT HAPPENED
The National Archives Records Administration recently applied the label to all records on its catalog site, including the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence.
- “The Catalog and web pages contain some content that may be harmful or difficult to view,” warns the full “Statement on Potentially Harmful Content.” “[S]ome of the materials presented here may reflect outdated, biased, offensive, and possibly violent views and opinions.”
