JAN. 6 COMMITTEE MOVES ON TRUMP: The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot voted Thursday to subpoena former President Donald Trump to appear for a formal deposition. Read more.

PARKLAND SHOOTER VERDICT: A Broward County jury on Thursday found Nikolas Cruz, who fatally shot 14 students and three staff members at a high school in Parkland, Florida on February 14, 2019, guilty of all counts and recommended a sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. Some victims’ family members, as well as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, expressed disappointment the jury did not recommend a death sentence. Cruz will be formally sentenced at a hearing next month. FIVE DEAD IN N.C. SHOOTING: Police say a 15-year-old male killed five people, including an off-duty police officer, during a shooting spree in Raleigh, North Carolina Thursday afternoon. The suspect was apprehended after a police dragnet shut down a large part of the city. Read more.
