Russia Has a Nuclear Submarine Armed With a Doomsday Weapon. And Apparently It’s Gone ‘Missing.’

Russia’s Belgorod, a nuclear-powered submarine armed with a top-secret “doomsday” weapon, no longer appears to be operating out of its White Sea base.

SO WHAT

As Russia faces setbacks in its ongoing conflict with Ukraine, observers are growing increasingly nervous about Russian leaders’ nuclear threats.

WHAT HAPPENED

NATO officials have warned Russia may conduct a test of Belogrod’s nuclear-equipped Poseidon weapons system, Fox News reported Monday, citing multiple news outlets.

  • Russia has claimed the armaments carried by the 600-foot submarine are capable of creating a “radioactive tsunami,” the Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported.
  • “There have been times when Russian nuclear-powered attack submarines, armed with long-range cruise missiles, operated undetected for weeks close to U.S. shores,” strategic intelligence expert Rebekah Koffler told Fox News Digital.
  • Koffler also said the Poseidon system is not likely to be operational until 2027.

SHOULD WE BE FREAKING OUT?

Tucker Carlson said Monday during his top-rated Fox News show that the U.S. now has “no option but total war with Russia.”

Carlson was reacting to the apparent sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines, which he said the Biden administration was responsible for “either directly or through proxies.”

  • “This act leaves us, the United States, with no option but total war with Russia. There is no off-ramp now. There is no way out. We are all-in, no matter what that means, no matter where it goes,” he said.
