RUSSIA RESPONDS TO BRIDGE ATTACK: In apparent retaliation for a blast over the weekend that damaged a bridge to Crimea, Russian forces unleashed a barrage of missile and drone attacks against a dozen Ukrainian cities today. The explosion on the bridge endangered a key supply route for Russian troops in the Crimean peninsula. Read more.

L.A. OFFICIALS’ RACISM CAUGHT ON TAPE: Los Angeles City Council President Nury Martinez has been asked to resign following the leaking of audio yesterday in which she and other Latino leaders can be heard making racist comments about blacks and Mexicans. Read more.

NFL UPDATES CONCUSSION PROTOCOL: Following backlash over the decision to allow Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to return to the field after a serious injury in late September, the NFL is updating its concussion protocol to bar players from playing if they show symptoms of impaired balance or coordination even when no other symptoms of concussion are present. KANYE COURTS CONTROVERSY – AGAIN: Kanye West was suspended from Twitter and Instagram over remarks that have been widely condemned as anti-Semitic. In a series of social media posts, the hip-hop artist and recent “Tucker Carlson Tonight” show guest said he was “going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,”and, “You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.” Read more.

PAYPAL BACKTRACKS ON DISINFO FINES: Amid backlash from the company’s former president, electronic payments platform PayPal walked back a published change to its terms of service which would have fined users up to $2,500 for spreading “misinformation.” PayPal claimed the updated terms of service were posted in error and the misinformation fine was never under consideration.
