Who’s Having a Good/Bad Day on Twitter
Our main characters on Twitter over the weekend were Queen Elizabeth II and Taylor Lorenz.
HAVING A GOOD ONE
THE QUEEN: Twitter was there for the 96-year-old British monarch’s Platinum Jubilee festivities, which saw her subjects, including Paddington Bear, celebrate her 70 years on the throne.
This on par if not better than the Olympic James Bond scene.
The Queen having tea with Paddington – incredible that at 96 and after 70 years on the throne she still has the power to surprise #platinumpartyatthepalace pic.twitter.com/88NP1ScpXx— Michael Cowan (@mrmikecowan) June 4, 2022
HAVING A BAD ONE
LORENZ: The Washington Post columnist earned a fresh round of Twitter hatred after the newspaper had to make multiple corrections to her Thursday article about social media influencers’ coverage of the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard defamation trial.
Perhaps it's also worth nothing: the *third* version of the lengthy, multi-pronged Correction appended to Taylor Lorenz's fairy tale — now upgraded to "Editors' Note" — still contains a blatant falsehood. Neither creator was contacted *before* publication, as even she admits: pic.twitter.com/IAtfDWJYUj
