Users of the OkCupid dating app can now easily see which of their prospective matches support abortion rights thanks to a new feature.
Melissa Hobley, OkCupid’s chief marketing officer, said the feature was created in response to Texas’ law banning most abortions.
- OkCupid will donate $1 to Planned Parenthood for every user that adds the badge.
- Earlier this month, Match Group, OkCupid’s parent company, joined the Bumble dating service in creating funds to support workers affected by Texas’ abortion ban.
According to OkCupid, users who signal support for abortion rights by including the words “pro-choice” in their profiles are almost twice as likely to receive a reply.
