TRUMP CALLS IN SCOTUS: Yesterday former president Donald Trump’s legal team asked the Supreme Court to overturn an appeals court’s ruling last month that allowed Department of Justice officials to continue reviewing documents seized from his residence at Mar-a-Lago. Trump’s attorneys requested that a special master appointed in August be allowed to screen the documents for privileged information before the Justice Department’s review. Read more.
OPEC+ IGNORES BIDEN’S PLEAS: A panel representing the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and other aligned countries, including Russia (OPEC+), recommended today to cut maximum oil production by two million barrels per day to keep prices over $90 a barrel. The move comes despite a “full-scale pressure campaign” by the Biden administration warning OPEC+ countries not to cut production, CNN reported. Read more.
