INFLATION JUMPS AGAIN: The consumer price index increased 8.2% in September compared to the same month in 2021, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced Thursday. Core inflation rose 6.6% for the month, reaching the highest level since 1982. Read more.

TRUMP ALLEGEDLY ORDERED DOCUMENTS MOVED: An employee at former president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate told the FBI Trump ordered boxes of documents moved out of a basement storage room after he received a subpoena demanding all classified documents be turned over to the agency, CNN reported Wednesday. L.A. RACISM SCANDAL UPDATE: Former Los Angeles Council President Nury Martinez, who gave up her leadership role on Monday amid public outrage over leaked audio of her making racist comments, announced Wednesday she will also resign her position on the council. Martinez’s fellow Democratic council members Kevin de León and Gil Cedillo, who are also heard making racist remarks in the recording, are also facing public pressure to resign. Read more.
