Many social media commenters were appalled by a Washington Post headline sympathetically framing the life trajectory of Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., the student suspected of gunning down three football players and wounding two others during a mass shooting at the University of Virginia at Charlottesville.
- The Post, which been accused of going soft on murderers in the past, changed the headline following the outcry.
- Jones, who is facing three charges of second degree murder and three charges of misuse of a handgun, was taken into custody Monday following a 12-hour manhunt.
